…to say I have the best blog readers and commenters EVER. Thanks to everyone who suggested boot alternative for a girl who has issues with her calves. And ankles. And boots in general. Right after I wrote Friday’s post, though, I went to Nordstrom Rack and found these. My friend Dana always says that when you find the right shoe or outfit, it calls to you. I think I could hear them, because I picked them up:
I brought them to the dressing room, where I tried them on with a pair of jeans I was also considering. One attendant at the counter saw me and said, “Those are great boots!” Okay, then. I walked around a bit, and ANOTHER attendant, a guy, said the same thing. “I’m dating myself here,” he confessed, blushing, “but they’re a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll!” Nothing like a Donny and Marie reference to seal the deal. So I bought them. They are Enzo Angiolini and when I put them on at home I STILL think they look weird on me. But I felt the same way about these sandals I bought earlier this summer. So I will make myself wear them, a little at a time, until I am used to them.
I just felt the need to share this with you.
Also, a thank you to Holly, who suggested I try Body Glide for my feet next time I am in New York and worried about blisters. BRILLIANT IDEA. I use it when I run: had never thought of trying it for that, though! What would I do without you guys?
Okay, back to Monday. Have a good afternoon, everyone!

In case you feel the urge to get more boots, I got some from Kohl’s last year. They are Aerosoles and look really similar to the ones you got. They have a zipper on the side that you can zip down if you have bigger calves and/or are wearing the boots over jeans. Can’t wait to wear them again this fall!
In the words of your attendants, “Those are great boots!” I’m sure they’ll look great on you!
omg just bought a pair just like that in brown
cant wait for boot weather in California
I agree with the attendants. “Those are great boots.” I bet they look fabulous on you.
I like your boots, Sarah
! They look like a pair of boots I have, only mine are gray. Riding boots are totally in this fall, so I bet you rock those at home!
Those are such great boots! They’ll look great on you!
Nothing like the perfect black boots. Congrats!
Great boots Sarah! It’s always nice once you find the thing that you have been wanting for a long time.
Sarah, these boots above, they seem to be comfortable and practical and, at the same time elegant.
I like your boots! I would recommend toestills (I don’t know why they are called that). They are great and they actually work. I used them for my gratuation shoes. They are found nearly all over the world, in pharmacy’s. They have like a gel bottom, to stop your feet from sliding and outline where your toes and heels are to stop you from getting blisters. Or you can even get the spray, which I’m sure that works, (but haven’t tried yet).
Good luck!!!!!
Those are really pretty boots!
Hi Sarah! I’m a big fan of all your books and I can’t wait for the next one! I just happened upon your site today and now i can’t wait to hear more from you!

Taylor
