Well, it’s official: Jessica Simpson IS Daisy Duke. (Come on, you KNOW you were just waiting on pins and needles to hear this news!) Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville as the Duke boys, and there you have it. I read in EW recently that there were a lot of girls up for the Daisy role, including Britney Spears, Elisha Cuthbert and….Mandy Moore. That last one, I have to say, I couldn’t see. I think Mandy’s the last person who’d want to play a character who is mostly defined by itty bitty little shorts. But maybe they’ll give Daisy an update? Might work. Or at least be worth checking out.
Meanwhile, yesterday I watched the first episode of the new season of one of my very favorite guilty pleasures: Starting Over. Do you ever feel like you’re the only person in the world who watches a particular show? That’s how I feel about this one. I swear, I have yet to meet anyone in person—a few folks have logged in here—who has any idea what I’m talking about when I go on and on about Rhonda, and Rana (who isn’t on this season, bummer!) not to mention the Christine drama from last year or whether Jonathan is Chloe’s father. But whatever. I still love it, even if I’m loving it alone. This season, they moved to a much swankier place, in L.A., which is kind of weird. Maybe they got sick of everyone is sweaters constantly, during those Chicago winters? There seems to be extra drama in place this year as well. Oh, man. There goes five hours of my week *snaps fingers* just like that!
Finally, one last TV note. This season I was SO excited to see that Will and Grace and CSI are no longer on at the same time, as that caused all kinds of problems last year, since they are, respectively, my favorite show and my husband’s. So great, right? Well, not exactly. What now conflicts with CSI? You got it: the O.C. Great. At least if I missed Will and Grace I knew I could catch it in reruns fairly quickly. This, though…this is bad. Why is it that when there are only a handful of really good shows on TV, they all have to be on the same night? At the same time? What’s that all about, anyway?
Okay, enough ranting, and grumbling. It’s just TV. I shouldn’t even care, right?
(Oh, but I do. I can’t help myself. I just do.)
have a good day everyone!
edited: Oops! I stand corrected, the O.C. is on the same time as Joey/Will and Grace, not CSI. Which is much better. If not ideal…..
