First and foremost, I have to say this: you guys rock. Yet again, I have a question, need some input, and you do not disappoint. I have become almost too dependent on you all as a resource: I find myself saying, whenever anyone has a query none of us know the answer to—moths in your pantry? when a dvd is being released? whethe Lasik is a good thing?—“Well, I’ll just ask on my livejournal. I bet you someone there knows.” And you do. That is so awesome. Thank you.

Meanwhile, on the way to work this morning, I found myself behind a car with two bumperstickers. One said “Wherever you go, there you are.” And the other: “Just think, in two days, tomorrow will be yesterday.” I found these to be very thought provoking, especially at eight-thirty a.m., when I hadn’t had my coffee yet. I like the randomness of bumperstickers. There’s something about the idea of having no control whatsoever about which cars you end up behind that makes whatever message they’re promoting seem That Much More Important or Meaningful. Since I drive through Carrboro, which is very alternative, on my way in, I invariably see a lot of BLESSED BE! and BREATHE stickers (and I always do breathe, as if someone is watching me to make sure I obey this). Out by my house, you see more NASCAR stickers—the little cartoon Calvin peeing on various things is popular, it seems. The weird thing about bumper stickers is that once you put them on your car, YOU don’t really see them anymore, so they’re really not for you at all. I don’t have any stickers on my car right now. I used to have a TRUTH SQUAD bumpersticker, which I think confused people. Apparently there’s some conservative thinktank with that name, and so some folks thought I was promoting that. Uh, no. But then my car got hit, and I had to get the whole bumper replaced, so for the time being, nothing. I have no message. Or at least not one you can get in a nutshell at a stoplight.

Still: no matter where you go, there you are. In two days, tomorrow will be yesterday. That’s deep, right? Or maybe I just need coffee. Or just to BREATHE. Huh. I think I’ll go with the coffee.

have a good day everyone!
