Last entry for the week, as I’m taking off for a couple of days for some R&R. Which means rest and relaxation, although right now it’s more like rushing and ranting, because I didn’t pack last night and have to leave in about two minutes and just zipped up my suitcase, only to realize I packed it in such a frenzy I can’t even remember what I put in it, so I’ll probably get there and have no pants, or socks, or something and—
—-breathe. In, out. In, out. Whoa.
I have always WISHED I was one of those people who can just throw a few essentials in a bag, grab their passport, and go jaunt across Europe without a single thought of whether or not they remembered to pack socks. But I am not. I am, instead, one of those people who make too many lists, pack way too much (making jaunting out of the question) and rush out the door so freaking stressed I just about implode en route to where I’m going to relax. It doesn’t have to be this way, I know. The world will not end if I forget my toothbrush. And maybe it’s never too late to change? Here’s hoping.
On the brighter side, I got in the mail yesterday a few copies of the promotional CD my publisher is sending out for Just Listen. It has me talking about the book, and reading some of the first chapter. They look lovely, and sound great (although, as usual, I cringe hearing my own voice, I sound so squeaky!). I wish I could send one out to each and every one of you, but the logistics would be a nightmare, so we’re working on a way to put the CD up as a podcast at some point. I have also heard murmurings about a possible contest. With prizes! (As opposed to the kind without them?) Anyway, more details to come. Meanwhile, I’m off to go breathe and recheck my suitcase. Not necessarily in that order.
have a good day, everyone!
