Greetings from Charlotte, NC, where I am sitting drinking coffee and trying not to eat the entire contents of the pastry basket that came with my breakfast. So far, it’s one muffin, half a croissant and counting. Oh, dear.
Once I arrived here yesterday I headed directly to Southpark Mall, which was fantastic if not a bit overwhelming. As I said yesterday, I have not been shopping in ages. Suffice to say I think I made up for lost time. Thanks to the person who told me there was an Urban Outfitters there, as I am now the proud owner of a “More Cowbell!” t-shirt. When I bought it, the guy behind the counter said, “Have you seen the skit?” and I thought, why would I be buying this if I hadn’t? Because I just like cowbells? Hmmmm.
(And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, run, don’t walk, to your local DVD renting establishment to get The Best of Will Ferrell. Put it in, watch it. Live it. You’ll thank me.)
Thanks also to everyone who let me know the fabulous Megan McCafferty gave me a shout out on her blog yesterday. I consider myself super lucky to be paired with Megan in any way. And if you haven’t yet read Charmed Thirds, run, don’t walk, to your local bookstore and pick it up. You can read it while you watch Will Ferrell wail on that cowbell!
(I’m awfully bossy today, aren’t I, telling you to run places. You don’t really have to, of course. It’s just a suggestion.)
Finally, thanks to everyone who came out to see me last night at Joseph-Beth, including my friend Shelley, and Kim’s mom (Hi Kim! Good luck with the flight attendant thing!) and, last but not at all least, the Spartanburg posse, who drove a long distance and therefore were deservedly documented:
Now, I’m off to head home, and hopefully NOT stop at the Banana Republic outlet on the way (be strong! be strong!). Before I go, a gratuitous shot of one of the goats from Fearrington, which I took on Saturday. You don’t have to to run, or walk. Just enjoy.
