Late entry today, as last night I was felled by a stomach virus. NOT fun. Now, I’m sitting in bed, Gatorade beside me, working my way through a backlog of US Weeklys and EWs. I figure I can look at this as a miserable experience (as it has been, at times) or as a forced vacation. The only time I ever can take off from writing and not feel guilty about it is when I’m sick, so I should just make the most of it, right?
Last night, as I was sitting on the couch feeling TERRIBLE, I found solace in, of all things, The Biggest Loser finale. This is a show I don’t watch, but you can’t help but be inspired by what the people accomplish. Losing a hundred and sixty pounds, purely through diet and exercise? It’s incredible. Personally, I feel like I’ve lost weight in the last twenty-four hours, but it’s not really the same thing. In a little bit, I’m going to sit down to a lunch of Saltines. Go me!
Speaking of TV, I know I have a lot of fellow Gilmore fans reading this, so I have to share this interview from the Ausiello report with Amy Sherman-Palladino, original creator of the show. She talks about her new project, in which one of the main characters—wait for it—works in the YA publishing world. Hello! How much do I love this woman? It almost makes me feel like we have a six degrees of separation thing, or something. Almost. One can dream, at any rate.
I hope you are all having a good day. And that you don’t have stomach viruses (I would not wish the last twelve hours on anybody). Blogging may be a bit sporadic in the next couple of weeks, as I am consumed with guests from out of town, various holiday events, and working on walking across the room without feeling lightheaded. Wish me luck.
