Quick update, in the midst of ongoing holiday festivities: it has been a GREAT Christmas, complete with turkey dinners, lots of family, fun presents (final season of Six Feet Under on DVD!) and…The Real Housewives of Orange County. Oh, man. There was a marathon of this show on while I was cooking and puttering around on Christmas Eve, and the next thing you know….well, I don’t have to tell you. Yes, I watched the entire season pretty much back to back. What a way to spend Christmas Day: breast implants! Marriage issues! Botox! I am ashamed to say that this is how I spent a major holiday, but sadly, it is true. On the other hand, we were wiped out from all our commitments, it was cold and rainy, and we had a fire blazing in the fireplace. I think I would have watched ANYTHING so as not to have to budge from the couch. And I guess this proves it. Oh, well.

Now, it’s The Day After, and I’m about to take down my Christmas tree. I know, bah humbug, and all that. But my feeling is when a holiday is done, it’s done. I want to move on. So it’s off with the ornaments, down with the lights, let’s start thinking about New Years. Blogging will be sporadic, as I’m trying to spend less time in front of the computer, more with my family and friends. And the Housewives, of course. No, just kidding. It was a one-time holiday thing, I swear. I’m not watching the new season when it starts in mid-January. I’m not. I’m not!

have a great rest of 2006, everyone!
