Quick entry today, as I’m heading out of town for a long weekend. Also, my husband is in his total Travel Dictator Mode, which means he was basically up and ready to go at 6:50 this morning and wondering why I wasn’t right there with him. Me, I like to get up, eat breakfast, do the blog thing, enjoy GMA, take my time….but his approach is different. When we’re going someplace, he wants to GO: also, when we’re returning, he doesn’t like to dilly-dally with long brunches and goodbyes. Get up, get out, let’s move! At least I’m used to it. And I have to admit, we never end up racing home late on Sunday night, with Monday right around the corner, which I HATE. So I guess I can’t complain.
Because I’m going to be out of town, I am having to Tivo both the Grey’s and Office finales. This requires a GREAT amount of faith in Directv, which I am praying will not decide to freeze up on me tonight at 7:58 just for spite. I know, I know, I could get both shows from iTunes, but watching TV on my laptop is just not the same. Also, I will have to avoid spoilers so I don’t hear what happened on both shows before I get a chance to watch them. All of this is so much pressure that I can just see myself sneaking back to the hotel tonight, pleading pregnancy exhaustion (which has actually reared its head again lately, although I’m hoping it’s only temporary) just so I can settle in and watch my shows. Which would be, frankly, pathetic. I mean, I can watch TV anytime! And I’m on vacation! But…it’s the Office! And Christina and Burke may or may not be finally getting married! Oh, I’m embarrassed just writing that. Moving on!
(Speaking of the Office, though, I saw on Page Six today that Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam, slipped on some steps at a restaurant in New York and fractured four bones in her back. Yikes! The weird thing is that I was at THAT VERY RESTAURANT, Buddakan, last week when I was in New York. Can you even imagine if we’d crossed paths? (I mean, without the accident, of course.) I would have been BEYOND starstruck. But isn’t that always the way? How to Deal experience aside, I am always the person who Just Misses the Celebrity Sighting, but either minutes or, in this case, a week and a day. So typical.)
Oops, I hear my husband coming. I think he’s jangling his keys, and I haven’t even finished my cereal yet. Better wrap this up…
