I’ve been up since 5:06. How about you?

I spent a lot of the weekend watching CNN hurricane coverage, and biting my nails at the sight of those HUGE waves hitting the coastal towns in Texas. So scary! We had a hurricane come through here a few years ago—-nothing like Ike, of course—and it still turned our lives upside down for weeks on end. And we are hours from the coast. For any of you who were in the path, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and dry.

In other news, yesterday morning, my husband was watching weather coverage on GMA while I did stuff around the house. I was passing through with a load of laundry when he said, all casual, “So Good Morning America’s going to be in Chapel Hill this week. They’re doing something on college kids, or something.” I froze. Turned around. Looked at him. “WHEN?” I demanded. “Who’s coming? EVERYONE? Or is it Kate and Bill, the weekend people? IS SAM CHAMPION COMING? IS HE? IS HE?” My husband just looked at me. “I don’t know,” he said. “I just heard them say something about it.” Cut to me, on the web, desperately trying to get information. All I was able to find was that the train stuff starts today and that they’ll be in DC at some point. OH MY GOD. What if they ARE actually coming here? YOU KNOW I will be front and center, right at 7am, with my baby in tow because I am that much of a total GMA freak. SOMEONE at UNC must have details, and I know a few people from there read this blog. If you know anything, please share! You would make my week. Although I am not getting my hopes up TOO high about Sam. Yet.

Of course, I’ll probably be able to find out more myself when GMA actually starts. Which is not for, um, another 35 minutes. I swear, there was a time when I missed GMA because I slept through it. At least, I think I did. It seems like a long time ago, now….

Have a good day, everyone!
