I am excited to announce that the first phase of my new website design is now up. We’ll be continuing to add stuff and make more changes over the next few months, but for now you can finally find ALL my online stuff on the front page: there are links to my Twitter, MySpace, this blog and Facebook. Plus, a little bit on what inspired Along for the Ride, and quick links to all the other books, as well. Yay for Mark and Andy, webgods supreme. I am a somewhat computer literate, but I could never do this on my own. I am all about bringing in the professionals when necessary.
In other news, I’ve been tinkering with my Netflix list, and I noticed that Pineapple Express, which came out, like, over a month ago, STILL has a Long Wait. I have never known a movie to take so long to become available! Is it that good? Worth the wait? It does have James Franco, so I am willing to believe this. My friend Cameron also INSISTED that I add a movie called The Foot Fist Way, which is apparently has some kind of cult following. I was a bit hesitant, until he told me that it was written and directed by a guy from NC and showed me an (incredibly profane but hilarious) clip on YouTube. Cameron is really kind of like my Owen Armstrong, when it comes to music at least: he is always bringing us mix CDs with bands and songs I have never heard of. Usually I end up really liking them, so I trust his judgement. In turn, I insisted that he watch Flight of the Conchords, which I think as a music geek he will totally love.
Finally, I’m discovering an unexpected bonus of having a toddler: she likes to help me with things. This is a recent phase, and some help is the kind you can do without, i.e. throwing the plastic containers all over the kitchen. But this morning, she handed me plates from the dishwasher, and she really likes to put wet clothes in the dryer. Also, I have a feeling she very well might like to clean. YIKES! Clearly, she takes after her dad in that department. Is tidiness genetic? I wonder….
