I love to hear from readers. LOVE to. However, there is a point when I just have to wonder what, exactly, someone wants from me. A case in point would be this email I recently received:
HI Sarah Dessen i read your book Someone like you and i thought i was very interesting but know i have to right a book report and i can”t find information on it under cliff notes
It would seem to me if you READ the book, you wouldn’t need the Cliff Notes. (Not that I ever used Cliff Notes, no, not ever, not even in college….except for one that time when I was really struggling with Chaucer’s Trolius and Criseyde..but I digress.) At any rate, I’m just not sure how to respond to this as a novelist—and a college instructor. So to this reader, I say, good luck with your report, and thanks for the email!
