Whew. Finally, I’m coming up for air.
But before I collapse, a recap:
First and foremost I want to thank Jenne from Quail Ridge Books, who put together the best signing ever. Jenne is one of those booksellers that you, as an author, hope and dream of. (And I’m not kissing up, either.) She did a great job getting the word out about the signing, introduced me in a way that made me seem like a Real Author, and comped me a copy of the flip book of Keeping the Moon and Someone Like You, which I hadn’t even seen yet. So thanks, Jenne, if you’re reading this.
Also I have to give much props to Kylon Middleton of Riverside High School, where I went this morning:
That’s Kylon, on the left, and on the right is Lindsey, who was doing a book report on That Summer. They invited me to come and talk about the book and made such a big deal about me coming that I was sure they had me confused with someone else. I feared they would be very disappointed when they actually met me, but no, they were very nice. They even presented me with a gift, given by the some members of the Lacrosse Team:
Then, they fed me. Barbeque from Bullock’s Barbeque (the best: they catered my wedding) and, even better: devilled eggs!! It was a big spread:
I swear I have never been so fussed over. Of course, I loved it. (Wouldn’t you? I mean, come on: devilled eggs!!!)
All in all, it was a great time. Afterwards I went to Costco and bought clam chowder. Joy. So thanks to everyone at Riverside:
Now, I’m going to take a couple of days off and try to teach my puppy how to Stay…..
