Confirmation from The Hollywood Reporter:
Trent Ford (“Gosford Park”) has been cast as the male lead opposite Mandy Moore in “How to Deal,” the Radar Pictures comedy to be distributed by New Line Cinema. “Deal,” penned by Neena Beber, stars Moore as a teenager surrounded by examples of love gone wrong who decides that love doesn’t exist — until she is proved wrong. In the project, Ford will star as Moore’s love interest. “Deal” is being produced by Radar Pictures principals Scott Kroopf and Erica Huggins with Chris Van Allsburg and Bill Teitler. Good Machine International is handling foreign rights. “Deal” starts shooting Wednesday. New Line production executive Stephanie Striegel is overseeing the project with director of development Michelle Weiss. In addition to appearing in the Oscar-nominated drama “Gosford Park,” Ford’s credits include the upcoming comedy “Slap Her, She’s French” and the 2000 drama “Deeply.” Ford is repped by Paradigm and managed by Essential Talent Management, which was formed eight months ago by veteran agents Don Spradlin and Brian Alexander and recently added Ford’s manager Christian Donatelli as a partner. So. There you have it. They start filming tomorrow.
*has slight anxiety attack*
Thank goodness I am going to Cape Cod. Otherwise this might just be a bit too much for me to handle, excitement-wise. I’m already high strung enough as it is.
And for those of you who have read it, isn’t it interesting how the synopsis for the movie sounds so much like the plot of This Lullaby? I mean, Halley wasn’t really so cynical in Someone Like You. If anything she should have been *more* cynical. This movie Halley is more like Remy in the script. Weird…
