So, that was Christmas. I have to say I’m a little relieved it’s all over. Don’t get me wrong: I had a great time. But now I can just settle back for those few days between Christmas and New Years when you just get to squeeze all you can out of the old year before the new one hits and you have to think about New Starts and Resolutions and Breaking Bad Habits. These next five days: Mallomars, movies, sleeping late, watching Oprah, all the things I’ll have to give up once 2003 (!) is here and I have to get serious and get back to work.

Speaking of work, I want to take a moment to say hello to everyone over at Sarah Dessen Deserves Stars, which is this very nice message group someone set up over at Yahoo! about the books. I checked in today for the first time in ages and there are actually people leaving posts and stuff, so I said hello to them and thanked them for the support. (It was sort of embarassing when the club first was set up and for, like, a year nobody posted. I felt like such a loser.)

I really, really want to go see the J. Lo movie today. (I know, I know, but don’t you at least appreciate that I’m being honest?) Also my sweet little nephew is in town so I’m planning to spend some time on the floor playing with blocks or catching some Dora the Explorer. You know, the important stuff.

As far as resolutions go, I’m keeping it simple. I’m thinking I want to take more time to just do nothing, you know, slow down every once in awhile and enjoy the scenery. I’d like to see more movies, even bad ones. Oh, and I really want to do more housecleaning. Actually, I don’t, but I *feel* I should, and with resolutions, that’s kind of the same thing, isn’t it?

Let’s enjoy our last five days of 2002. Bring on the bad habits! I’m going to get a mid-morning Mallomar.

have a good day everyone…..
