Well. It’s Monday. And it’s the 7th, but doesn’t this *really* feel like the start of the New Year?

With the way Christmas and New Years fell, in the middle of the week, it seems like I haven’t been able to keep track of what day it is really for ages. But today, today everyone is back at work. Or school. Or something. You can just feel the sense of obligation in the air.

(And last night I had one of those Sunday night moments, the kind I remember from grade/middle/high school, when at about six pm you start feeling all anxious and weird, knowing there’s a new week starting, stuff to do, oh man. Then I tossed and turned all night long. What’s up with that?????)

I start back to teaching tomorrow, which gives me today to do all those little (yes) obligatory things I’ve been putting off while claiming vacation status. Such as: answering a bunch of emails, calling American Airlines to try to sweet talk them into refunding my London tickets I never got to use, going to the dry cleaners, calling my accountant. Cleaning out the fridge.

Oh well. It had to happen sometime, right? We could not just keep on playing holiday forever. Eventually, you have to just Get Back To It. With that in mind, I’m off to the bank. Watch me go!

*takes brave breath, plunges in*

have a good day everyone…..
