That’s it: I’m off the Oscars. The Golden Globes are so much better.

No annoying host, no numbing musical numbers to sit through, all the stars, and it’s over in three hours, flat. Not bad. I watched from start to finish, flipping over to watch my Moulin Rouge DVD during the commerical breaks. It was, all in all, a fun evening.

I love awards shows. Always have. Every year for Oscar I sit down with my list of nominees and make my picks, then see how many I got right as the show goes on (and on, and on, and on….I rarely make it to the end, to be honest). The Globes last night got right to it: Meryl Streep won (and seemed incredibly flustered) Jennifer Aniston won (and didn’t thank Brad Pitt, just like Sarah Jessica didn’t thank Matthew Broderick a few years back). And Renee Zelleweger won, which I was *so* happy about. I just love her. I want to sit down and have a beer and some chips and salsa with her, I swear. She just seems like she’d be fun to hang out with.

Now it’s Monday, but not really, because it’s a holiday. Just like last night was Sunday, but not really, because today is a holiday. So confusing, especially if you’re me and have enough trouble keeping track of what day it is when things are normal. Throw in an aberration of any kind and I’m lost, totally. Then again, it doesn’t take much…..

have a good (holi) day everyone…..
