Ah, a little bit of spring for you. My tulips survived being planted entirely too late and being snowed on just a couple of days ago. They look weak, but they’re resilient little things.
Last night I got sick of the news and watched Dazed and Confused, a movie that is really about, well, simpler times. (And drugs, and rock and roll, and the first phase of bell bottom jeans.) I just love that movie. It’s like all of high school rolled into two hours. If you haven’t seen it, you should
In other news, Matt Doherty, the UNC basketball coach, got sacked yesterday. Or, resigned. Or, chose to leave under the pressure of administration. (As with all things at UNC, there are many different ways of saying one thing: he’s out, gone, good riddance.) I personally had no real issue with Doherty, as he was a player here when I was a kid: he played with Jordan on the 1983 winning team (at least I think it was 1983) was there on the court when “the shot” (I know some of you, or maybe one of you, knows what I’m talking about) was made. I thought they might keep him on for another year, but I guess in basketball it’s about winning, and not much else. I used to be crazy when it came to UNC basketball, but as I’ve matured (ahem) I’ve mellowed out some. I guess we’ll just have to see what happens from here. That’s all I guess you can do ever, really. Just sit back and see what rises up over the next hill. In the meantime, enjoy the scenery. And the tulips.
have a good day everyone!
