Whew. What a weekend.
My cousin’s wedding was, of course, beautiful. It’s always so nice to see two people so HAPPY, it just sort of reaffirms that things are good in the world. Adding to the glamour of this already glamourous wedding was the presence of Trista, from the Bachelorette, who is a good friend of the bride and my now-new cousin Ashley. I tried not to make too much of an ass of myself staring but I did tell her I was a fan when we were introduced, which my cousin Anna told me made me seem dorkish. But whatever. What can you do? If you are a fan, I’ll just tell you that she is flat-out gorgeous in person, very nice, and was wearing a dress I would die for AND carrying what I am sure was a real Kate Spade bag, unlike the very many fakes I have. Sigh.
In other news, I came home to find that the poster for How to Deal has now been changed, so the ones I have are now either a) hopelessly out of date or b) collector’s items. I think I’ll go with the latter. Here’s the new poster, at any rate:
Have to say, I like it. And the new tagline. The other one didn’t exactly make sense…and this one sort of captures the tone of the movie a bit more. So exciting.
Now, I am home. I do not want to board another airplane for awhile, as I just get too damn nervous. (Total honesty: yesterday, a couple of drinks helped. Big time.) When we were landing in Miami on Friday we had this sudden burst of turbulence and I felt my heart jump and I gasped, causing the guy next to me to look over at me. I said, “I just really hate to fly,” and he said, “Don’t worry, I do this trip all the time. It’s always bumpy coming down. Totally normal.” Which was reassuring, I must say. I do, however, wonder what it is like to board a plane not expecting to die at any moment. Must be nice.
Now, it’s Monday, and I have Stuff To Do. Another wedding and shower is looming, there are errands to run, all the little things that indicate my bumpy landing back into my real, normal life. Even so, it’s nice to be here. I think I’ll stick around for awhile.
have a good day everyone!
