Well, yesterday was sort of crazy, as I saw How to Deal on television about three times. Yes, the commercial finally, but also on TRL, where they showed a clip, and then afterwards on this show Girls Who Kick Ass, which had clips and videos from, well, Girls Who Kick Ass. (I keep thinking about Halley, the original Halley from the book, and how she isn’t really, technically, a Girl Who Kicks Ass, even at the end..she’s more of a quiet type even then, but this is the movie, which, as I’ve said, is a bit different.) Anyway. It was truly wonderful and bizarre, as most days have been lately. So insane.
On TRL they previewed the first single from the soundtrack, by this fourteen year old (fourteen!!!!) singer named Skye Sweetnam. You can check it out, and the Liz Phair song from the soundtrack which I love love love, here. I know I’ve said it before, but I *really* like this soundtrack, and I have bought a lot of soundtracks in my time. Usually there are two, maybe three songs you really like, but on this one just about every one is good. I love “Do You Realize” by the Flaming Lips, and, as I’ve also said before, the Beth Orton cover of “Wild World” kicks butt. If they don’t play that on the radio eventually I’m going to be seriously annoyed.
Today, I have another phone interview, and then I get to offiically start my weekend. Hooray! It commences with errands, which is not so fun, but on the Fourth Bianca has promised to make her world-famous ribs which are so delicious I have been thinking about them all day. Plus she says she may make a pie. A pie! Even better than a great best friend is a best friend who is a great cook. Can’t wait.
have a good day everyone!
