So now, finally, life is getting back to normal. It’s really nice. Today I ran errands, went to the dry cleaners, worked on getting my house in order, both spiritually and literally. So much for glamour: I know what really matters when the UPS man arrives and I literally have to wrestle my dogs onto the back porch so that I can open the front door without them surging out like a yelping, clawing wave. Yikes.
(You think I’m joking. I’m not. I have scratches all up and down my arms. I need a dog trainer, bad.)
Anyway, last night I had a great time at Quail Ridge Books, where, even though it was a Sunday night, I had a really good turnout of folks. Tonight, I go to the Regulator Bookshop in Durham, which I love, to do another signing event, at 7pm, if any of you are in the neighborhood. I love these local appearances, which always end up being part work event, part reunion/social hour. So much fun.
When all these readings are over, I’m looking forward to getting back to my TV watching: last night I missed Sex and The City AND Project Greenlight, plus that new show The Restaurant, which I really want to watch, considering my own experience working as a waitress. My Tivo-ing has been disrupted by my husband’s obsession with the Tour de France, which, thank God, will be over by next weekend. Then it’s all Carrie and Chris Moore for me, all the way. Yay!
For now, though, I’m going to have a veggie burger, read the paper, and remember back to this time last week, when I was so nervous I was on the verge of a panic attack. It’s kind of nice to be on the other side, I have to say. But boy, was it fun while it lasted.
have a great day everyone!!!!
