*sigh*
I’ve been up since about 6:20. You?
My dog had another one of his vomitous mornings today. (I’m not sure if that’s even a word—vomitous, not mornings or today. At any rate, I’m too tired to try to think of another one.) Nothing like being up a full half hour before the alarm goes off: those last thirty minutes are sacred, and I spent them outside, shivering on the back steps, while my dog walked around eating grass and getting sick. Lovely.
Anyway, things have looked up since. It’s a beautiful day, I’m having lunch with friends, and today’s payday. So it’s not all bad.
Because I am so tired, I’m going to give up on coming up with original witty content and instead do this little list thing that’s been floating around Livejournal. I first saw it on my cousin Ben’s page:
Instructions: Take one list of authors, remove those whose efforts do not grace your shelves and make the list up to ten by adding some more that do.
Here’s Ben’s list:
Ray Bradbury
Douglas Coupland
Margaret Atwood
Michael Chabon
William S Burroughs
Elizabeth Wurtzel
Bill Bryson
J.D. Salinger
Toni Morrison
Sarah Dessen
And here’s mine:
John Irving
Barbara Kingsolver
Margaret Atwood
Michael Chabon
Anne Tyler
Helen Fielding
Harper Lee
Diane Johnson
Lee Smith
Sarah Dessen
(and because I shouldn’t count myself)
Alice Sebold
*yawn*
What I really need today is a naptime, like in kindergarten, where you got out your mat and curled up on the floor as a class for some shut eye. I wonder if I put my head down on my desk here in my office anyone would notice…….
have a good day everyone!
