So they were just eating deep-fried Oreos on Good Morning America. What is the world coming to?

Even more bizarre, it was Diane Sawyer who was all excited about them. They even provided the recipe: freeze Oreos. Roll them in buttermilk batter. Deep fry. Dust with powdered sugar. Ugh. (The Ugh was my own last step, not theirs.)

In other news, I went to see my former student Courtney read at the Regulator last night and she was just so good. My husband and I sat there like proud parents, and during the Q&A I asked a question (I cannot sit in silence, when everyone is silent, no hands raised. I think it’s the teacher in me). It was a great time.

Speaking of great times, I’m determined to have one over fall break, so I’m taking a few days away from my computer to get out into the world. I’ve been working so hard editing my new novel—which is due out next summer—that I feel like I’ve been missing out on everything: movies, fresh air, just laying around doing nothing. Those are all on my list for the next four days. But I *will* be back, of course, because I am addicted to ITunes, and Page Six, and livejournal, and writing to all of you. Talk to you soon…..

have a good day everyone.
