The snow is falling down
Up in some northern town
But the Carolina Christmas
Is still the best around
Wrap up the teddy bear
Hang your stockings up with care
It’s a Carolina Christmas
We’re chilling in our underwear

Okay, so it hasn’t gotten THAT point yet. But I am feeling the holiday, now. Finally.
Yesterday, I went Christmas shopping. Not a leisurely, strolling, browsing kind of shop: no. This was a direct, planned assualt on my Christmas list. I got to the big new mall at exactly 10am (special holiday hours) and it was pretty dead, as around these parts, most people are at church at that time on a Sunday. In the first store, I bought four presents. In the second, three. And so on. I shopped for two and a half hours and got pretty much everything I needed, except for toys, which involve a whole different plan. Then I went to have Chinese food to celebrate, and came home and collapsed. But I feel so much better, knowing that something, finally, is DONE.
I got good stuff, too. I had so much fun buying gifts because, unlike when I normally shop, there’s very little, if any, guilt involved. You’re buying for others! You’re virtuous! Look at you go!
It really was very nice. And now I can take a deep breath, relax, and then…..move on to the oh, about a hundred other things on my To Do list. So much for that sense of accomplishment. Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted.
have a great day everyone!
