You know you just can’t stand how jealous you are of my souvenir diary from Trista and Ryan’s wedding. Yes: this is the real deal, people, given to me by my cousin Michael and his wife Ashley, who are friends of Trista’s and were at the wedding. It is still encased in plastic (hence the glare) and I am so tickled by it I can hardly stand it. I wasn’t a big fan of the show, but as pop culture goes, this is a serious keepsake. Getting it almost makes up for the fact that my team was knocked out in the first round (!) of the ACC tournament this weekend. Almost.

Meanwhile, Spring Break is now officially over. Back to work, back to school, back to Obligations and Responsibilties. It would make me seriously cranky if I hadn’t just gotten off the treadmill, which tends to kick up my endorphins and make me uber-cheerful, at least for a little while. Another thing that made me cheerful: I’ve been alerted to the fact that I have a new fanlisting, which is very nice and flattering. Who knew I had fans in Singapore? Not me. So that’s nice.

We have about a month and a half left in the semester, and a month from today, on April 15th, I do my first reading from the new book at the Bull’s Head Bookshop on the UNC Campus. Then classes will end, and a couple of weeks later the book will be out, and then I’m doing a short tour (dates to follow as I find them out) , followed by more local bookstore stuff. Yikes! The first part of this year just dragged, but now I have this distinct sense that time is speeding up. And all I can do is sit here and wait for reviews, and the book to come out, biting my fingernails and hoping everyone likes it. It’s ex-cru-ci-a-ting. Maybe I need to get back on the treadmill. Or just look at my Trista diary again. Maybe that will calm me down.

have a good day everyone!
