So it’s Monday, it’s going to be in the mid-eighties today, and I can’t stop sneezing. But it’s all good. Spring is finally here.
Yesterday, I went over to the North Carolina Literary Festival at N.C. State, which was really fun. I signed books—and they had the new book there, which was great—and then did a talk about How to Deal, which was then screened afterwards. It was REALLY hot. I wore a short-sleeved sweater and felt like I might burst into flames (I didn’t, however). I didn’t have a huge crowd, but it was nice that some folks showed up. Plus I got to see Lee Smith and Kaye Gibbons, which was just so wonderful. And there were free sandwiches. You can’t beat a free sandwich. You just can’t.
In other news, I now have a list of my upcoming tour appearances up on the website. It’s going to be a bit of a whirlwind (nine bookstores in six days) but it’s my first national tour so I’m really excited. All of May is looking to be a little crazy, to be honest. But I’ve been so reclusive the last few months—I really feel like I’ve been under a rock, or something—it’ll do me good to get out into the world. Even if it means zigzagging across the country a bit.
have a good day everyone!
